Time Is Tapes is a Seattle-based tape duplication service. That means we take your precious music baby and turn it into hundreds of little plastic cassette tapes for you to sell to all your moms, or people who come to your shows or whatever.
We're 100% committed to supporting DIY musicians and getting your music into a convenient physical medium, and 100% not committed to making money or exploiting our beautiful duplicators for their surplus value.
Harold and Maude
Harold and Maude are a Sony CCP 1300 and 1400, respectively. They're the workhorses of Time Is Tapes, and were taken from a friendly preacher in Puyallup
We subscribe to the KISS philosophy here, so we do three things of interest to you:
Mixing from masters to cassette tape
Cassette tape duplication
J-card printing and jewel case stuffing
Time Is Tapes, unlike other tape duplication services, doesn't exist to make a profit, so we charge purely based on wholesale costs.
We source tapes from many different suppliers, so these wholesale costs can vary widely based on your needs, like quality and length of tape.
That being said, on average a cassette tape with a jewel case and j-card will cost 0.50$.
Send us an email and we'll work with you to find a happy little medium of what you want in cost and quality
Q: Why don't I just copy my own tapes?
A: Well, since we are able to operate in bulk, we can provide a better price and faster duplication. Basically we're trying to do the boring bit of releasing your music so you can get to the interesting bit.
